Open Question: Why do so many sports teams wear red and blue?

Whenever I watch football, baseball, and basketball I see so many teams that have uniforms that almost look the same because they wear red and blue.In baseball, the Cubs, Twins, Braves, Angels, Indians, Phillies, and Nationals wear red and blue. In football, the Patriots, Bills, Giants, and Texans wear red and blue. I think they should establish a new rule in all professional sports that no team from any sports league can wear the same color combination. Here's a list of colors, I came up with. If you do the math, and add them up, you will come up with more color combinations than sports teams in each league. black - 0 brown - 1 red - 2 orange - 3 yellow - 4 green - 5 blue - 6 purple - 7 gold - 8 silver - 9 other -10 If you add all those numbers together, that's 55 potential uniform colors.
